Things have been going really good here in Green River, almost all the people that we are teaching came to church yesterday! It was a great fast .
Well... Im really sorry but I dont have to much else to update you on. So, I'd like to share something that I learned from my personal scripture study.
(I was reading in Helaman 5) Helaman is talking to his sons and basically starts bearing his testimony.."(verse 9) O remember, remember, my sons, the words which king Benjamin spake unto his people; yea, remember that there is no other way nor means whereby man can be saved, only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, who shall come; yea, remember that he cometh to redeem the world.....(
verse12) And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."
These are just a few verses that particularly stuck out to me as I was reading the chapter.
As I was pondering this scene, what it must have been like..I thought about how when Helaman passes on, his sons will know what is most important to him. What he held most dear.
Then I thought...when I'm not around, or when I die, what will people remember about what I held most dear?
Then as i read on in the chapter it talked about the great miracles that came from Helaman sharing his testimony to his sons.. (verse 17) "And it came to pass that they did preach with great power, insomuch that they did confound many of those dissenters who had gone over from the Nephites, insomuch that they came forth and did confess their sins and were baptized unto repentance, and immediately returned to the Nephites to endeavor to repair unto them the wrongs which they had done.....
